UK Health and Safety Training Provider to Open Centre in Bahrain
In a development, which is set to have a great impact on health and safety training for those companies operating in the Gulf region, the UK health and safety training provider RRC, has announced that it is to open a new centre in Bahrain.
Being in partnership with Hasan Al Aradi, owner of the AlManar Institute and serving the entire Gulf region, RRC Training and Consultancy Middle East is credited as the only UK health and safety training company which will operate a centre in Bahrain.
The new company is the result of RRC’s increasingly close association with the Gulf region, which the company has been visiting for the past three years establishing contacts. One of the first contacts made was Hasan Al Aradi, with whom RRC developed the RRC Key 2 Safety programme for the Gulf region. This was specifically tailored to meet market demand and was aimed at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Al Aradi had a vision to develop the leading HSE training centre in the Gulf and as a result, in the middle of 2004, RRC made the decision to establish an overseas office in the Gulf area. Both parties have been in discussion ever since, with a common aim to determine how to turn the vision into a reality.
Gary Fallaize, Managing Director of RRC, commented: “Throughout the Gulf, health and safety has become more and more recognised as a legitimate business consideration, with many employers now accepting the need for protection of their workers. In addition, although national legislation on the subject may not yet be as prescriptive as in other areas such as Europe, the International Labour Organisation are having an ever-increasing influence, with the introduction of health and safety standards worldwide.
“We felt the time was right for high quality specialist health and safety training and we are very excited about this new opportunity which we believe will make a significant difference to companies operating in the Gulf, which have often struggled in the past to find a reputable local health and safety training provider.”
The new company will be introducing the Block Release NEBOSH International General Certificate, the NEBOSH Level 4 Diploma, IOSH Courses, plus short courses and consultancy services. Although Bahrain will be a key market, RRC see the Bahrain centre as a pilot for the Gulf Region and will be actively marketing their products and services throughout the region
