Send this article
Central Europe oil and gas company OMV, in which Abu Dhabi is a key stakeholder, has signed an agreement with Ukrainian oil and gas companies for joint activities in the Black Sea. OMV, with Naftogas and NSC Chornomornaftogaz will co-operate in bidding for a production sharing agreement.
The area selected for future joint activities is Block Skifska, between the Ukrainian-Romanian border and the Crimean peninsula.
Helmut Langanger, OMV executive board member responsible for exploration and production, said: “Exploration activities in the Western Black Sea region are a perfect fit to OMV’s strategy. Any significant oil or gas find in that area would add value to our business in one of our core regions.”.
