gets ISO 9001:2000 certification

Certification demonstrates Landmark's ongoing commitment
to service quality and sets new industry benchmark
Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of
Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), today announced the ISO 9001:2000 certification
of its UK-based Hosted Data and Application Management Services
business.
Landmark operates data centres, in Leatherhead and Aberdeen, providing
continuous and secure access to data and applications for users
from all over the world. It is the first business offering vendor-neutral,
multi-client, hosted technology services in the upstream E&P
sector, to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification.
"This is a great achievement for Landmark's Data and Application
Management Services business and everybody involved," said
Andy Lane, Landmark president. "Not only is this a clear message
to the market that Landmark is committed to quality service delivery,
but also illustrates the emerging importance of E&P hosted services
in meeting customer needs for secure and reliable data and application
support."
ISO 9001 certification measures the effectiveness of the business
and quality management systems implemented by the organization to
deliver its products and services. The ISO 9001:2000 standard is
internationally recognized for its emphasis on meeting regulatory
and customer quality requirements, enhancing customer satisfaction,
and the continuous improvement of business processes which influence
quality.
Through its UK Hosted Data and Application Management Services
business, Landmark provides flexible and secure access to data and
applications across the E&P lifecycle, to more than 50 companies
worldwide. Landmark's UK Hosted Data and Application Management
Services business has been in operation since 1996, and enables
customers to commit their corporate information assets to Landmark's
secure centers which operate the multi-client Petrobank(TM) technology
and which deliver full turn-key data management services including
quality improvement, cataloguing and storage. Such data can be easily
interpreted via hosted applications, downloaded through an on-line
portal or delivered on physical media. Outsourcing in this way is
delivering reduced cycle time, lower cost of ownership and operation,
and increased level of certainty in the decision making process.
"Landmark manages the security and availability of Common
Data Access (CDA) UKCS Well Data in a scalable hosted environment,
in which rigour and attention to detail is paramount," said
Malcolm Fleming, CEO, CDA. "In the last year, CDA has benefitted
considerably from Landmark's implementation of new processes and
controls throughout its UK Hosted Data and Application Management
Services business, to the internationally recognized standard of
ISO 9001:2000. Achieving this standard will enable our members to
have an even greater level of confidence that their data are in
the right hands, and that service levels are assured."
The process of ISO 9001:2000 certification has taken 10 months
in all, culminating in a four-day audit by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
DNV is one of the World's leading certification bodies. With over
50,000 certificates issued globally, they have gained a reputation
for their integrity and are renowned for their expertise.
"In the course of assessment to ISO 9001:2000, Landmark EAME
Ltd have demonstrated a clear understanding of quality requirements
and the commitment to implement these in their UK Hosted Data and
Applications Management Services," said Derek Irving, DNV lead
auditor. "By awarding this certification, DNV have verified
that Landmark have the systems to fulfill their customers needs
and provide a quality service."
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the source
