BJ Process and Pipeline Services appointed Andrew Barden to the
position of division technical manager.
In his new role, Barden is responsible for all business development,
engineering and training activities for BJ PPS worldwide. He will
be highly instrumental in setting and overseeing the global business
development strategy for BJ PPS, while acting as a valuable client
liaison for projects that emanate from Houston’s international
business community.
In addition, Barden will develop standards and objectives for the
training department, as well as aims and strategy for the BJ PPS
engineering group, STEPPS. He will make certain that the group’s
performance is monitored on a regular basis to ensure that it is
in line with the division’s standards of excellence.
Barden has 20 years experience in the process and pipeline industry,
having worked in the United Kingdom and Houston. In 1983 Barden
joined McKenna and Sullivan in Northampton, England as a trainee
engineer. He went on to work in a number of operations and sales
roles, including the position of base manager in Northampton and
as regional business development manager for the Europe-Africa-Middle
East Region following the acquisition of McKenna and Sullivan by
Nowsco. He was appointed sales manager in Houston after Nowsco’s
1994 acquisition of Pipeline Dehydrators PLD.
When BJ Services acquired Nowsco in 1996, Barden progressed to
base business unit manager for the U. S. on behalf of BJ PPS. Prior
to his promotion to division technical manager for BJ PPS, Barden
served for four years as the BJ PPS regional business unit manager
for the Americas.
Originally from Sheffield, England, Barden graduated from the University
of Southampton in England with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical
Engineering in 1983. He is based in Houston and reports directly
