HP Developer & Solution Partner Programme

Posted: 21 January 2004

HP announced its worldwide initiative, the Developer & Solution Partner Programme, will be launched in the Middle East for the first time at Microsoft’s three day Developers Conference being held at the Air Force House, Heliopolis on 25-27 January 2004.

HP will also be providing prominent support throughout the event, which has an expected attendance from 14 countries around the Middle East. This is potentially the largest ever developers forum held in the region.

For the past two decades HP and Microsoft have shared technology and engineering resources in developing and advancing several Microsoft operating systems and the complete suite of Microsoft .Net Enterprise servers and solutions.

HP will be highlighting this close partnership to an audience of some 2,500 developers; from enterprise developers, software architects, software engineers, web developers to web development mangers at the event.

“We have been building on our long-term partnership with Microsoft for many years. In combining HPs strengths in platforms, storage, access devices and services and Microsoft’s operating systems we are providing the developer community with the very best access and support needed to successfully build and deliver more productive solutions,” said Joseph Hanania, Regional General Manager, HP Middle East. “For HP, working with Microsoft at this event shows our commitment to partnering with both the public and private sector to grow industry wherever we operate and we will continue to grow these partnerships within this region over the coming months.”

For the duration of the conference there will be opportunities for the developer community to become members of the HP Developer & Solution Partner Programme (DSPP). This worldwide initiative has been designed to help independent software vendors (ISVs), developers, and system integrators (SIs), create unique solutions across the broad spectrum of HP's platforms and operating systems. The goal of the programme is to match high-quality services with each member’s specific development cycle, marketing, and sales needs.

In support of this event and in an increased effort to build developers' interest and boost adoption, HP is further supporting the initiative by positioning at very special price-points, two models of the Industry's best-selling server platform - HP ProLiant.

For the cost-conscious, SOHO-based developer the HPProLiant ML310 (recently awarded the best-server in the Windows Top 100 products for 2003) starting at US$1,999.

For the larger organisations and the professional developer who needs greater processing punch - the HP ProLiant ML350 - the fastest selling tower server in the region.

Both models are pre-integrated and tested at the HP factories with Storage, increased memory and the Windows Server 2003 operating system, starting at US$3,499 (all offers exclude customs and sales tax).
