Nicholas F. Brady elected to Weatherford Board of Directors

Weatherford International Ltd announced Mr. Nicholas F. Brady,
the 68th Secretary of the United States Department of the Treasury,
has been elected to the Company’s Board of Directors.
President Reagan appointed Mr. Brady as Treasury Secretary in 1988,
a position in which he continued to serve under President George
Bush until January 1993. Prior to his appointment as Treasury Secretary,
Mr. Brady served as Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Market
Mechanisms, as well as on a variety of other Presidential commissions,
including: the Scowcroft Commission on Strategic Forces (1983);
the Kissinger Commission on Central America (1983); and the Packard
Commission on Defense Management (1985).
Mr. Brady also served in the United States Senate from April –
December 1982, during which time he was a member of the Armed Services
Committee and the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee.
Preceding his tenure in the White House, Mr. Brady had a 34-year
career in investment banking. After being educated at Yale University
(B.A.) and Harvard University (M.B.A.), he joined Dillon, Read &
Co. Inc. in 1954 and rose to become Chairman of the Board in 1974.
He also served as Chairman of Purolator, Inc. from 1971 through
1987. He currently is the Chairman of Darby Overseas Investments,
Ltd., a Director of Amerada Hess Corporation and C2, Inc., and Director/Trustee
of the Templeton Funds. He also served as a trustee of Rockefeller
University and a member of the Board of the Economic Club of New
York. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Inc.
