Furmanite
makes new senior appointment
Posted: 23 February 2004
Furmanite International, the specialist engineering services and
technologies company geared to maximising asset uptime, has appointed
Michael Anderson in a senior role as the new business development
manager.
The move follows the appointment last year of Tony Nicholls to
managing director of Furmanite International – the UK arm
of the international group headquartered in Dallas, USA.
As part of the senior management team at Furmanite, having taken
up the business development manager post in mid-January, Mike Anderson
is responsible for broad business development across the wide range
of industries Furmanite serves in the UK, Eastern Europe, West Africa,
Middle East and Caspian regions. He heads up the national and international
sales team covering the raft of Furmanite products and services,
from pressure leak sealing and self-sealing repair clamps to pipeline
intervention, Trevitest valve testing and valve repair, on-site
machining, Smart-Shim, plus composites repair, metal disintegration,
and passive fire protection.
Mike joins Furmanite with a strong background in both sales and
industrial engineering. With qualifications in both mechanical engineering
and marketing, he has held positions of UK and international sales
manager and market development director with companies such as Belzona
International (leading manufacturer of polymeric engineering products)
and Charles Walker & Co (manufacturer of light industrial conveyor,
drive and transfer belting).
“I’ve joined Furmanite at a particularly exciting time,
as the company is set for exponential growth over the next few years,”
Mike enthuses. “There’s enormous potential for our range
of existing and newly developed services and technologies, all of
which are geared to helping our customers operate efficiently, whilst
maximising earnings from their assets.
“The high level of in-depth knowledge, experience, and engineering
expertise that exists within Furmanite makes this an extremely stimulating
environment, and it’s an exciting challenge to take such a
strong service and product offering to market and develop the many
opportunities to help customers benefit from our ‘value proposition’.
Maximising asset uptime is exactly what operators in all industries
are seeking to achieve – and we’re able to help them
do just that.”
Furmanite’s expertise is extensively applied in industries
from offshore oil and gas, refining and petrochemical, power generation
including nuclear, chemical and pharmaceutical, marine, aerospace
and water, to iron and steel, food processing, and pulp and paper,
among others, around the world.
Furmanite employs some 1,000 employees across the world, including
320 in the UK at its head office in Kendal, Cumbria, and eight regional
service centres throughout the country, providing a 24/7 call-out
response service.
