Leading refining, energy and petrochemical company to implement
SimSci-Esscor systems globally
SimSci-Esscor, an operating unit of Invensys plc, today announced
it has signed a perpetual license agreement with ExxonMobil Research
and Engineering Company to provide its industry leading real-time
optimization (RTO) software, ROMeo, to Exxon Mobil Corp.'s worldwide
affiliates. The contract includes software licenses, engineering
services, technical support and training.
This new agreement provides for use of the RTO software for open-
and closed-loop online unit optimization. In addition, the license
covers use of ROMeo for off-line unit optimization such as process
and equipment monitoring and olefins plant optimization. This agreement
complements ExxonMobil's long-standing relationship with SimSci-Esscor
for detailed engineering design and simulation tools.
ExxonMobil will begin implementation of ROMeo as part of its molecule
management initiative.
"We are pleased that ExxonMobil has chosen SimSci-Esscor as
its provider of real-time optimization solutions," said Ken
Brown, SimSci-Esscor's vice president and general manager. "Having
been selected as a technology partner, we look forward to helping
the company realize maximum benefits from our technology."
