Established regional event attracts strong list of exhibitors
Omanexpo, organizers of the energy industry’s biennial ‘Oil
& Gas West Asia’ (OGWA) trade fair since 1998, will organise
the fourth event in Muscat from April 19-21, 2004.
Further to the show’s success in 2002, a large number of
leading local companies have already announced their participation
next year. Major national exhibitors pavilions are also in process
of formation, with the support of leading Asian and Western embassies
in the Sultanate.
According to C. J. Paul, General Manager, Omanexpo “The purpose
of this professional trade fair for the oil and gas industries of
Western Asia is to offer unique networking, sales, marketing and
conference opportunities for companies and delegates from Oman,
UAE, Iran, India, Pakistan, Yemen and the GCC.”
OGWA exhibitors from Oman and the GCC who have to date reserved
space include Oman Refinery Company (ORC), Total, Occidental of
Oman, Halliburton Group, MB Petroleum, Honeywell Oman, CPI Sepma,
Dalma Energy and Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC). Discussions continue
with many other companies.
For Halliburton, David Troost, Business Development Manager, said:
“We have booked space again at OGWA in 2004, because we found
the show to be a good meeting point with clients, customers and
industry professionals who are important to our business. It has
also given us an opportunity to present our technologies to meet
the challenges of the oil & gas industry in Oman”.
Masood Al Msalmy, General Manager - Maintenance, of Oman Refinery
Company, commented, “We participated in all the Oil &
Gas West Asia Shows and look forward to the forthcoming event as
an opportunity to enhance the public image of the company as most
environmentally friendly.”
Shoaeb Kasmani, Marketing Manager, MB Petroleum, added: “OGWA
is a regular fixture for us – the last show was successful
and met all our requirements. At the forthcoming Oil & Gas West
Asia, we will be representing new technologies to the upcoming oil
market in Oman.”
National pavilions are being formed in China (to be led by China
Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation, CPTDC), France
(led by energy trade association GEP), Germany, UK, Iran and Malaysia.
An extensive conference will take place alongside the exhibition,
with reputed international and regional speakers: the full programme
will be published later in the year.
