Dolphin
Energy selects SAP software to meet future financial and operations
management needs
Posted: 22 March 2004
Integrated business solution will be installed over two
years
Dolphin Energy Limited has selected the mySAP business suite to
handle the energy company’s rapidly expanding business and
operational requirements.
The implementation will enable Dolphin to integrate its Projects,
Corporate and Operations management into one central Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) Platform. This will ensure that the organization
efficiently coordinates such core business processes as financials,
human resources, supply chain management, product life management,
business intelligence and joint venture accounting and production
sharing accounting.
“We have selected mySAP because of its proven systems, its
regional record in the energy industry and a competitive price,”
said Dolphin Energy CEO, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.
“Our company is developing at great speed and we therefore
took the long-term strategic decision to invest in an ERP System,
which will help us grow effectively – and which is flexible
enough to grow with us.”
Dolphin will implement Phase One of the SAP installation by close
of 2004, when financial, procurement and material management for
Abu Dhabi and Doha operations will be activated. Phase Two starts
in 2005, covering Plant Operation in Ras Laffan and other requirements.
For SAP Arabia, Mr Essam Enany, President of SAP Arabia, commented:
“We are delighted to have been chosen by Dolphin Energy to
supply mySAP Business Suite. We are looking for a long-term partnership
where Dolphin will benefit from the collaborative business environment
of mySAP, plus our extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry.”
He added, “SAP Arabia is committed to leveraging its extensive
vertical industry experience to assist companies in improving efficiencies,
increasing productivity and optimizing key business processes.”
