New system offers the Syrian GSM leader greater decision making ability

Oracle Corporation, the world's largest enterprise software company, today announced that the leading Syrian GSM provider Syriatel has selected Oracle E-Business Suite including Oracle Financials and Oracle Purchasing to streamline its business processes, improve decision making ability and make the company's key financial data accessible online while gaining enhanced control of its finance-related processes.
Syriatel foresees a number of measurable business benefits from its e-business project, both internally and for its customer- and partner-facing departments.

All of the Group’s key information is now centralised in one location. Additionally, the new streamlined business processes based on the Oracle E-Business Suite will result in increased efficiencies across the board.

"Our objective is to enhance competitive advantage, and with Oracle E-Business Suite, all of Syriatel's financial information will be consolidated and available in real-time, which makes us a more efficient, productive, and knowledge-based organization," stated Nader Kalai, CEO, Syriatel
He added, "After the implementation Syriatel will have a greater control over key business processes, with increased transparency and faster processing and closing cycles."

With this move, Syriatel joins a number of leading Middle East telecom companies who are already enjoying the benefits of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i - companies like Batelco, Al Watanyah Telecom, OmanTel, and MobileCom

"GSM leaders such as Syriatel are increasingly interested in reducing costs and maximizing efficiencies to enhance performance and remain competitive in a fluctuating telecom market.
