- Quality Award presented to Aggreko in recognition of commitment
and dedication shown throughout the 2 year contract.
- Revenue Management program with World Bank allocates oil revenue
to priority social sectors in the Chad community.
Aggreko plc global leader in providing temporary power and temperature
control services today announced it has received the ESSOChad Construction
Quarterly Award for Quality and Excellence, in West Africa.
In July 2001, Aggreko was awarded a long term contract by Kellogg
Brown and Root (KBR) to supply a 12 MW / 6.6kV power package for
general construction and production facilities at the ESSOChad oilfield
development project in Kome, Chad, West Africa.
In recognition for the outstanding commitment and dedication shown
by the Aggreko team over the last two and a half years, the Quality
Excellence Award commends the expertise displayed by Aggreko staff
when working in difficult conditions, the 24 hour a day on-site
availability of personnel and equipment, and the ability to mobilise
additional equipment in short time scales.
Colin Gaston, Aggreko Area Director for West Africa said “With
extensive environmental management plans developed during the project
and a revenue management program between the World Bank and Chad
which allocates a percentage of oil revenue to priority social sectors,
Aggreko is proud to be associated with a project that benefits the
local community. The remote location, torrential rains and flooding
of sites presented many challenges over the past 2 years. We are
delighted to receive this award and appreciate the recognition given
by ESSOChad for the team work and support shown by the Aggreko team
throughout the project duration.”
Jeffrey T Leech, Senior Engineer Technical Services, KBR said, “Aggreko
were our main supplier for temporary power throughout the project.
With the location being remote, reliability and technical capability
24 hours a day was our top priority. We were very impressed by the
high standards displayed by the Aggreko Service Engineers in such
difficult conditions. Aggreko demonstrated their commitment to the
project when requested to supply additional equipment on short notice
without hesitation.”
The Chad/Cameroon Development Project is developing oilfields in
southern Chad, a landlocked country in West Africa, and building
a 1,070 kilometer (663 miles) underground pipeline to a marine terminal
off the coast of Cameroon. The pipeline is needed to export Chad's
oil to world markets.
Aggreko is the world leader in providing cost effective temporary
power and temperature controlling solutions. Aggreko power generation
services include generators, loadbanks, transformers and ancillary
products offering power from 15 kVA in a single unit to the design,
installation and operation of complete multi-megawatt power packages.
Aggreko temperature control services include fluid chillers, heavy-duty
