of upstream operations

Offers a unique combination of domain knowledge, global
reach and best-in-class consultants targeting E&P operational
processes
Schlumberger Information Solutions (SIS) announced today the creation
of the Schlumberger Business Consulting group (SBC), focused exclusively
on the growing demand for optimization of upstream oil and gas industry
operations. Schlumberger Business Consulting offers a unique combination
of more than 75 years’ knowledge of the exploration and production
(E&P) industry and the expertise of best-in-class business consultants.
Antoine Rostand has been named managing director of the new group.
In his 19-year career, Rostand has worked for Schlumberger in field
operations, A.T.Kearney and EDS as principal then president of EDS
France, and for SchlumbergerSema as vice president, Consulting and
Systems Integration, Europe.
“Adding more reserves, drilling better wells and maximizing
production are clear industry goals,” said Peter Goode, president,
SIS. “But the business is evolving, with changing operational
issues and accelerating workforce dynamics. To generate the next
step change in value creation, information, software, new technologies
and process redesign need to be integrated within the core E&P
operational processes across the entire chain. With our E&P
domain experience and the capability to provide an end-to-end solution,
SIS is uniquely positioned to assist our customers to meet the challenges
of the E&P industry.”
Schlumberger Business Consulting works with E&P companies in
strategy implementation, organizational efficiency and technology
strategies to help enhance core operational processes within these
organizations and to gain productivity through appropriate workflow
redesign enabled by information technology (IT).
This new consulting group is supported by the fusion of SIS activities
in software technology, information management, and network and
infrastructure services.
