Tenets of the Health Management System

AlMansoori Specialized Engineering has introduced a unique Health
Monitoring Management System for its entire workforce. The programme
is focused on having personnel in the best state of health, and
includes pre-employment medical examinations, periodic examinations
and occupational health objectives.
“It is the responsibility of the company to provide a working
environment which prevents undue hazards to health. It is the responsibility
of the employee that he maintains the condition of the work site
and takes active steps to protect his own and his fellow workers’
health,” stated Nabil Al Alawi, Managing Director of AlMansoori
Specialized Engineering.
He was speaking at the recent company seminar launched in Abu Dhabi
to inaugurate the new health initiative and the Health Matrix Courses
which increase staff awareness on health issues.
The occasion also witnessed the launch of the AlMansoori Healthy
Lifestyle Booklet by the MD who announced “Health is Everything”
will be AlMansoori’s campaign for 2004.
The company’s HSEQ Administrator Dr Polad presented the Health
Monitoring Management System and said that AlMansoori is a pioneer
in monitoring, maintaining and controlling its employees’
health.
Hamadeh Bakir, Manager of HSEQ mentioned that the company certified
its HSEQ system to OSHAS 18001 at the beginning of the current year.
The company as part of its HSEQ policy, and in accordance with local
government regulations, provides a regular medical examination of
all employees to monitor individual health status, to facilitate
early detection of health variations and to provide the opportunity
to discuss any health concerns.
This revolutionary programme, believes the company, is the first
to be conducted in the region and possibly on a worldwide basis.
Al Alawi says the employer should do more to protect the employee’s
health and the environment in which they work. He further explained
that the company’s goal is to work closely with each employee
and help them achieve their health goals by, guiding, consulting
and rewarding them when they achieve their health goals.
“Our vision is to have a workforce in the best state of health
as practically as possible,” said Al Alawi.
