appoints Dave Cooper Chief Technology Officer
Posted: 22 April 2004
Pavilion Technologies announced today that Dave Cooper has joined
the company as its vice president and chief technology officer (CTO).
As CTO for Pavilion, Cooper will be responsible for directing research
activities, implementing the company's product roadmap, and leading
a worldwide software development team.
"The appointment of Dave as CTO fills a critical leadership
role in our company," said Ralph Carter, Pavilion Technologies
CEO. "Innovation is the foundation of our company's success.
Dave's unique combination of business management and software development
skills will drive innovation that delivers bottom-line results for
our customers."
Cooper brings 20 years of experience delivering valuable software
solutions to Fortune 500 customers.
Getting an early start at the age of 15, Cooper has garnered a
wealth of experience managing the definition, development, testing,
and release of software products. In addition, Cooper has developed
commercial, custom, and hosted software solutions for a variety
of industries in the service, manufacturing, government, and consumer
sectors.
"I appreciate the opportunity to join a team and a company
that has a portfolio of top tier customers - like Nestlé,
BP, Fonterra Co-operative Group and Eastman Chemical - that consistently
depend on Pavilion's solutions to solve real challenges year after
year," said Cooper. "The combination of human capital
and technology assets that Pavilion possesses is unrivaled. It is
a company with tremendous momentum and it will continue to be a
dominant force in the industries it serves."
Cooper comes to Pavilion as an accomplished entrepreneur. Prior
to joining Pavilion, Cooper served as president of Corporate Data
Solutions Corporation (CDS), providing strategic and technological
management for eight software companies. Before founding CDS, he
served as CTO and vice president of engineering for Echopass Corporation,
a communications and data hosting company serving high-volume call
centers. In this role, Cooper successfully integrated 10 hardware
and software systems to build a hosted service for customer service
contact centers that delivered a 99.99% uptime, a first for the
industry.
Cooper also served as vice president of development with TenFold
Corporation, implementing large-scale applications for Fortune 500
companies in the banking, insurance, healthcare, energy, and investment
management sectors. Previously, Dave was director of development
at Corel Corporation where he conceived and developed some of the
most heavily marketed features in WordPerfect including QuickFinder
(a full-text indexing and retrieval engine), Coaches (the first
automated electronic office assistant), and the WordPerfect file
