awarded contract for hydrogen plant by Cenex Harvest States
Posted: 27 April 2004
Technip announced that Technip USA’s Claremont, California
office has been awarded a 19.4 MMSCFD hydrogen plant by Cenex Harvest
States (CHS) for their Laurel, Montana refinery as part of the Tier-II
clean fuels program. Technip’s scope covers design, engineering,
procurement and construction for the complete plant.
The hydrogen plant will utilize Technip’s state-of-the-art
steam reforming technology and the design will be tailored for a
high degree of energy efficiency as well as environmental compliance
employing ultra low-NOx combustion. The plant is scheduled for completion
in February 2005.
This award is in addition to Technip USA’s current work on
the McPherson, Kansas hydrogen plant of NCRA, of which CHS is the
majority shareholder.
This new hydrogen project augments the impressive list of more
than 180 hydrogen plants supplied and built by Technip (including
ex-KTI units), representing over 40 per cent of the global installed hydrogen
capacity. It further demonstrates Technip’s consistent market
leadership in hydrogen. This is the result of continued commitment
to high reliability and energy efficiency in hydrogen plants which
are designed to meet the emerging needs of the refining and petrochemical
industry.

top five corporations in the field of oil, gas and petrochemical
engineering, construction and services.
