Jacobs receives contract from GASCO

Posted: 13 May 2004

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced a subsidiary company received a contract from Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO) to provide know-how, process design, and engineering services for two new SUPERCLAUS(R) units and a new acid gas enrichment unit for the expansion of the Habshan Gas Complex in Abu Dhabi.

This project will help GASCO meet increasing crude oil production needs by boosting its sulfur recovery capacity by 1600 tons/day.

The SUPERCLAUS process is a proprietary technology jointly developed by Jacobs and GASTEC N.V. in the Netherlands to achieve over 99 percent recovery of sulfur from gasses containing H2S. With over 140 units in successful operation, Jacobs holds a leading position in helping clients across the globe meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Andrew Kremer stated, "We are delighted that GASCO selected our proven SUPERCLAUS(R) technology. We look forward to helping GASCO fully realize the benefits of this strategically important expansion project."

Jacobs, with over 35,000 employees and revenues approaching $5.0 billion, provides technical, professional, and construction services globally.
