Posted: 17 May 2004
Organisations across different sectors to learn about the
latest IBM PC-based solutions that will place them at the forefront
of new business technologies
IBM Middle East will introduce a range of its latest ‘ThinkVantage’
PC technologies at a one-day event taking place at the Beach Rotana
Hotel & Towers in Abu Dhabi on the 23rd May. The ‘Think-Innovation
for Business Advantages’ event will gather vertical sector
organisations in Abu Dhabi to brief them on IBM’s latest PC-based
solutions that offer unique manageability, security and wireless
capabilities and address the changing needs of today’s business
PC user.
“IBM's 'ThinkVantage’ technologies are helping organisations
become more competitive by delivering innovative solutions and industry-leading
capabilities that dramatically improve productivity and reduce costs,”
said Sameh Farid, regional manager of personal computing division,
IBM Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. “IBM is helping Middle
East organisations place themselves at the forefront of modern business
technology by working closely with them, launching initiatives and
holding events that explore the integration of information technology,
mobile and wireless computing into business processes.”
IBM’s ThinkVantage technologies offer several unique advantages
to PC users in the business environment. The Hard Disk Active Protection
System, for example, is a patented hardware and software solution
from IBM that dramatically reduces hard drive failures by avoiding
full-induced system damage. The Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore
helps users get back to business quickly by allowing them to recover
from common problems such as software crashes, corruption on applications
and viruses.
The ‘Think-Innovation for Business Advantage’ event
will highlight IBM PC innovations designed to meet the growing needs
of companies deploying e-business solutions like wireless networking,
advanced security and application management.
The event will also have an overview of IBM’s software porfolio
and a special focus on the xSeries range of eServers and their unique
Enterprise X-Architecture, which has revolutionised the Intel server
marketplace. Intel will also be giving a presentation on its Centrino
mobile technology and Hyper-threading architecture that is incorporated
into most IBM ThinkPad notebooks and ThinkCentre desktops.
IBM, the world's largest IT company, has helped customers innovate
for business advantage for more than 80 years.
With ThinkPad notebooks, ThinkCentre desktops, and ThinkVantage
Technologies, IBM personal computing solutions address today's business
needs.
These include reducing IT management costs, increasing systems
uptime, improving security and enabling wireless solutions.
