alger energy 2004: 3rd International Energy, Mining, Petrochemical and Electrical Engineering Trade Fair of Algeria

alger energy 2004, the 3rd International Energy, Mining, Petrochemical and Electrical Engineering Trade Fair of Algeria, is scheduled to take place again at the Pavillon Central of the Palais des Expositions Pins Maritimes, Algiers, from October 10-13, 2004.

The exhibition enjoys the full support of the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines, and is officially sponsored by Sonatrach. alger energy 2004 is organized by fairtrade, Germany and Algiers, in close cooperation with the ministry of energy and mines and with SAFEX.

In his letter of support, the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Dr Chakib Khelil, said: "On behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 3rd International Energy, Mining, Petrochemical and Electrical Engineering Trade Fair of Algeria "alger energy 2004". After we have succeeded to more than double the number of exhibitors at "alger energy 2003" to 150 companies from 21 countries, our target for the further development of this outstanding trade fair is very clear. We are committed to make "alger energy" the largest dedicated exhibition of its kind in Africa and the Mediterranean region in order to enforce investments into the boosting Algerian energy market and to create a platform for dialogue between the African producers and their most important EU markets on the one hand side, and their technology and equipment partners on the other hand."

alger energy 2003 has been a full success: double the numbers, double the size: 150 exhibitors (+ 114per cent) from 21 countries discussed business with a total of 8,200 visitors, 71per cent of them being visitors of the trade. The fair was officially opened by the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Dr Chakib Khelil, in the presence of the Ambassadors of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Tunisia, USA, the CEO of Sonatrach, Mr Mohammed Meziane, and the CEO’s of 150 of the world’s major energy players.

Sonatrach and Sonelgaz participated with huge stands. Sonatrach, according to the Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, is ranked as the 12th largest company in the world in its field. It is the leading oil company in the Mediterranean, the world’s 4th largest exporter of natural gas and the 2nd for LPG.

Sonelgaz is the Algerian leader in production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy and of natural gas. Sonelgaz is also the No. 1 producer of electrical energy and gas in North Africa.

alger energy 2004 will again see the participation of many international and Algerian market leaders as well as an official French pavilion, organized by UBI France, and a Russian pavilion organised by Negus.

To make alger energy 2004 a major success, a high-powered trade visitors promotion campaign will be implemented to attract precisely the right target group of buyers.

The organisers will again closely cooperate with important official media such as Algérie Entreprise, Arabies, Arab Oil and Gas, Corporate Africa, Ecofinance, ENTV, First Magazine, Jeune Afrique l’Intelligent, Le Pétrole et le Gaz Arabes, Oil Review Middle East and Partenaires.
