The
Oil Barons Ball 2004
Posted: 19 May 2004
Pipeline Magazine is proud to present the Middle East’s second
annual Oil Barons Ball. The Ball is the largest and most prestigious
social event for the oil and gas sector in the Middle East region.
Pipeline Magazine’s Excellence in Energy Awards 2004 better
known as the “Oil Oscars” will be presented at the Ball.
The evening will commence with the presentation of these much coveted
awards. Once dinner has been served and the awards are over, the
Ball will begin. There will be live music, laser light shows and
thousands of Balloons released at midnight ensuring the evening
is one that will be remembered long after the event.
Last year over 1,000 guests from all parts of the region’s
energy sector attended. Heads of leading oil and gas companies,
dignitaries and VIPs, major regional and international corporations
were in attendance at last year’s Ball. A special sectioned-off
area will accommodate VIPs and dignitaries.
The 2003 Ball, held under the patronage of the UAE Minister of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Obeid Bin Saif Al
Nassiri, was a great success
“The support of major companies such as ADNOC and organisations
like the UAE Chapter of the International Association of Drilling
Contractors has helped increase the appeal of the event,”
said Eileen Michael, publisher of Pipeline Magazine.
This year Pipeline readers are once again given the chance to acknowledge
the companies they believe to be shaping the Middle East energy
sector.
Previously, readers simply voted for the company of their choice.
This year Pipeline readers are once again invited to nominate the
most deserving companies in the following categories Health and
Safety; Environment; Industry Technology; Industry Services; Information
Technology; Project of the Year; Overall Excellence in Energy and
Outstanding Achievement.
Two new categories have also been introduced this year and Pipeline
readers can nominate candidates for Best EPC Contractor and Best
Project Management Consultant.
All nominees will be honoured at the event. But, like the Oscars,
there can only be one winner in each category.
Nominations can be made online by visiting the Pipeline Magazine
web site at www.pipelinedubai.com, or by using the voting form in
the magazine.
The 2004 Ball is being held in the beautiful outdoor lawn setting
of the Nad Al Sheba, Dubai’s famous racing club. The overall
theme for the evening is black and gold to reflect Oil — black
gold.
The dress code for the evening is Black Tie or National Dress.
The formal Ball will feature fine food and entertainment, including
an extraordinary laser show, as well as live music.
Limited sponsorship opportunities are still available. The sponsorship
package at the Ball will provide considerable impetus in supporting
your products and services in the region, and allow you to fast
track profitable business in the Middle East region. It also offers
a target audience second to none and allows you to address this
most lucrative industry sector in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
