Posted: 20 May 2004

UK based Masons and Dubai based Galadari & Associates today announced the formation of Masons Galadari, a joint venture of two international law firms that will provide legal services to those operating in the construction and engineering industries throughout the Middle East.

Masons is the world’s leading provider of legal services to the construction, energy, engineering and infrastructure industries

Galadari & Associates is arguably the largest firm of advocates and legal consultants in the UAE.

This partnership recognizes that the Middle East and in particular the UAE is fast becoming the point of reference for global development and professional excellence. Masons Galadari wants to be part of that and believes that this partnership has the credentials to secure a role.

Based in Dubai, Masons Galadari provides local expertise and presence from which to service clients in the Middle East and through its association with Masons, also provides clients with access to the skills and resources of more than 800 lawyers operating across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific .

These combined resources, expertise and experience are complemented by an in-depth industry knowledge and awareness of the commercial demands of the industry.

Chris Dering, Head of Masons' International Committee, said: "We have been working in the Middle East and North Africa for many years and the time is now right for us to take our involvement one step further with this permanent presence in Dubai. We are delighted with the opportunity to set up the joint venture with the well respected top quality UAE law firm, Galadari & Associates. This move is consistent with, and will benefit from, other ventures which we are undertaking such as the launch of Masons Thelen Reid LLP, in conjunction with our US colleagues, and our linked office in Iraq."

"This is an exciting opportunity to work with Masons, a world leader in international construction, engineering and infrastructure law and with clients throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas," said Ziad Galadari, Principal of Galadari & Associates. "Clients throughout our Region in the Middle East will have access to the kind of sophisticated resources, expertise and experience that a renowned international firm can provide."
