New processor code named Dothan helps delivers 15 per cent
improved performance and longer battery life
Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading international IT company,
has unveiled its new LIFEBOOK S7010 notebook, powered by Intel’s
innovative next generation mobile processor technology and featuring
new architecture that delivers 15 percent improved performance as
well as longer battery life.
The LIFEBOOK S7010 is the first notebook to have Intel's latest
ground-breaking Pentium M processor technology codenamed “Dothan”.
Consisting of 140 million transistors, Intel’s new Pentium
M processor is manufactured with 2 MB second-level cache and 90-nanometer
semiconductor technology.
“The LIFEBOOK S7010 simply redefines the 14-inch notebook
class. Besides being small and lightweight, it brings optimum performance
through next-generation processor technology to users constantly
on the move or working in the field. Ideally, it targets professionals
who cannot be saddled with a heavy notebook and large display,”

The LIFEBOOK S7010’s modular bay allows extremely flexible
use. For example, a DVD writer can be swapped for a second battery
or hard drive almost instantly. The security panel, the integrated
SmartCard controller and the optional Trusted Platform Module help
identify the computer in the network and ensure secure authentication
and data protection.
“In addition to weight, battery life and communications capabilities,
the LIFEBOOK S7010 offers the highest levels of data security and
access protection,” said Lewitzki. “In a world in which
mobility has become part of our every day life, a key consideration
is given to security. Professionals and top management officials

by anybody else. Our new notebook carries this assurance, besides

The new LIFEBOOK S 7010 comes with an optional Wireless LAN and
is ready for Bluetooth V1.2 which provides ideal connectivity. Together
with its optical drive and comprehensive communications and security
features, the LIFEBOOK S7010 offers professional users all the functions
of a fully equipped notebook.
