Local organisations, ICT companies and channel partners
learn about the latest software solutions that will place Jordanian
organisations at the forefront of business innovation
IBM Middle East and Int@j (the Information Technology Association
of Jordan) will host an event in Amman next Sunday to brief organisations
and channel partners in the Kingdom on the latest software solutions
that will help them take full advantage of the on-demand era. Taking
place at the Four Seasons Hotel, the event will address some of
the fundamental challenges that organisations face in extending
their competitiveness and responding more efficiently to the market
while remaining focused on their core businesses.
“IBM offers a compelling range of enterprise software that
support open standards and enable Jordanian organizations to build
an on-demand operating environment across all types of computing
platforms. This transformation is key because it will help them
respond to any customer demand or market opportunity with flexibility
and speed,” said Bilal Omar Abu Zeid, Acting Chief Executive
Officer at Int@j. “We believe that this is an important event
for the Kingdom’s technology sector as it creates new opportunities
that build Jordan’s capabilities and its competitiveness in
the global business arena.”
IBM will bring all five of its enterprise software brands together,
including DB2, Lotus, WebSphere, Tivoli and Rational to provide
an in-depth overview on data management, collaboration and messaging,
Web services, middleware, systems management and development tools.
Through the use of open standards and Web services, these solutions
have the ability to integrate into any component of an organisation’s
existing technology infrastructure, allowing customers to use the
best combination of software and hardware platforms for their business
purposes.
“The event will focus on IBM’s open software architecture
and how it brings exciting new opportunities to Jordanian software
developers with its advanced customization and integration capabilities
that will help them expand into new markets,” said Bashar
Kilani, Manager of IBM’s Software Business, Middle East, Egypt
and Pakistan. “Jordan’s IT sector has enormous potential
and together with Int@j, we are working to support and develop this.”
IBM joined Int@j, the voluntary non-profit, private organization
that represents, promotes, and advances the Jordanian software and
IT services industry in the global market, to build on the association’s
efforts to advance Jordan’s technology industry and develop
the country’s technology focused human capital.
