Jacobs receives contract from BP in Texas

Posted: 26 May 2004

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that they were selected by BP to provide front-end and design engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services as the EPCM Optimization Program contractor for BP's refinery in Texas City, Texas.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

This program, which aims to improve the efficiency and delivery of small capital projects, mirrors Jacobs' successful relationships at BP's facilities in Carson, California, and Grangemouth, Scotland. Jacobs has also executed numerous small and medium-sized capital projects at BP's Texas City refinery.

In announcing the start of the program, Jacobs Group Vice President Pete Evans said, "This is an important step in our ongoing relationship with BP. We are excited about our role in BP's South Houston Enterprise and are confident that the BP/Jacobs team will achieve their 1000-Day Goals for capital productivity and project excellence."

Jacobs, with over 35,000 employees and revenues approaching $5.0 billion, provides technical, professional, and construction services globally.
