Anadarko Petroleum Corporation announced several senior management changes. The company named Robert P. Daniels and Mark L. Pease as Senior Vice Presidents, Exploration and Production, to oversee worldwide activities.

Daniels will be responsible for the company's international and growth assets, and Pease will be responsible for the company's North American foundation assets. Both will report to Jim Hackett, Anadarko President and CEO. Daniels, who is currently based in Calgary, will relocate to Houston.

"Bob and Mark are integral members of Anadarko's senior management team," Hackett said. "I have complete confidence in their capabilities, and know each will excel in their new roles."

Daniels, currently Vice President, Canada, joined Anadarko in 1985 as a geologist and held positions of increasing responsibility until he was named to his current position in 2001. He holds a master's degree in petroleum geology from the Colorado School of Mines and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from The Colorado College. Daniels has served on the Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and was the Chair of the Northern Executive Policy Group for CAPP.

Pease, currently Vice President, U.S. Onshore and Offshore, joined Anadarko in 1979 as an engineer and held positions of increasing responsibility until he was named Vice President, Algeria in 1998. In 2001, he returned to Houston where he has served as Vice President, Engineering and Technology, and Vice President, International and Alaska Operations. Pease received his bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Michael O. Bridges, currently Chief Engineer, will replace Daniels as President, Anadarko Canada Company, and will report to Pease.

"Mike has demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout his career at Anadarko. I'm certain he will do well in his new position in Canada," Pease said.

Bridges joined Anadarko in 1981 as an engineer and has worked in various engineering and supervisory roles until he was named Division Production Manager of the Midland office in 1998. He returned to Houston in 2001 and has served as Chief Engineer since that time. Bridges received his bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

The company also announced today that Mario M. Coll, III will join Anadarko as Vice President, Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer. He will report to Bobby Reeves, Anadarko Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Law.

"We're pleased that Mario will be joining Anadarko. His technical and strategic planning experience will be an asset in leading the information technology group," Reeves said.

Coll served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President Information Management with Devon Energy from 2003 to 2004 and as Vice President, Operational Planning and Chief Information Officer with Ocean Energy from 1997 to 2003. He brings 20 years of domestic and international engineering and operations, strategic planning and information management experience to this position through his service with Mobil Exploration and Production, Ocean Energy and Devon Energy. Coll holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.

In conjunction with these organizational changes, Richard J. Sharples, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Marketing, and Morris L. Helbach, Vice President, Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer, have elected to retire. Additionally, James J. Emme, Vice President, Exploration, has elected to resign.

"We thank each of them for their invaluable contributions to Anadarko's past success," Hackett said.

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is one of the world's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies. Anadarko's operational focus extends from the Gulf of Mexico and prolific Texas, Louisiana and Mid-Continent basins, up through the western U.S. and Canadian Rockies and onto the North Slope of Alaska. Anadarko also has significant production in Algeria, Venezuela and Qatar and is executing strategic exploration programs in several other countries.
