Legrand
opens its first customer centre in Abu Dhabi
Posted: 07 June 2004
Electrical products and systems giant, Legrand, opened its first
customer centre in Abu Dhabi in partnership with one of the region’s
pioneering electrical distributors — Electra
Abu Dhabi LLC, established in 1965.
The Legrand Customer Centre is a specially designed area within
the new Electra showroom, occupying approximately 150 sq metres.
The centre presents and sells Legrand solutions for residential
buildings (wiring accessories, smart home solutions), for commercial
buildings (cable management, VDI structured cabling and security
solutions), and for industrial buildings and processes (industrial
switches and sockets, distribution cabinets, circuit breakers).
The opening of the Legrand Customer Centre, attended by French
Ambassador Fran?ois Gouyette and Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Hamed,
President and CEO of Al Hamed Enterprises, is among a host of initiatives
undertaken by Legrand to develop the huge potential market represented
by the building and industrial sectors in the emirate, said Mohammed
Ahmed-Yahia, Area Manager, Legrand. Earlier this year the company
embarked on a GCC-wide roadshow aimed at familiarizing contractors
and electrical products retailers with the broad range of Legrand
products and providing them hands-on training.
“The Legrand seminar held in Abu Dhabi, as part of the roadshow,
drew a tremendous response from the government and the private
sectors and highlighted the strength of the relationship Legrand
enjoys with customers in this part of the world. The new Legrand
Customer Centre will greatly enhance our interaction with our customers
and provide the company further opportunities to discuss their
expectations,” he added.
“There is a huge potential here, particularly within the
construction sector. It is our endeavour to participate in the
country’s growth by providing electrical products of the
highest quality,” said Nizam Dalle, General Manager, Electra
Abu Dhabi. He added that the company, which lent its name to the
street on which it was located, moved its base to the Tourist Club
Area of the capital to cope with rising demand for electrical products
and systems.
The new premises are double the size of the original Electra showroom
and is the main base from which the company undertakes all work
related to the supply of electrical material to diverse projects.
An integral part of the prominent Al Hamed Enterprises, Electra
Abu Dhabi has over the years successfully served the needs of local
commercial, residential and industrial projects.
“Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are two very important areas for us
and we want to make sure that customers and prospective buyers
have easy access to our products and services. Through our 27-year
partnership with Electra, we are an established presence in Abu
Dhabi with many major local projects to our credit,” Ahmed-Yahia
said.
Among the projects in Abu Dhabi supplied by Legrand, in partnership
with Electra, is the refurbished Sheraton Hotel, the Abu Dhabi
Mall, the Abu Dhabi Trade Centre, in addition to public housing
projects and commercial and residential developments.
Legrand, which achieved a 44 per cent growth in the UAE in 2003,
established its Dubai office in Jebel Ali Free Zone in 1996. The
office today oversees the company's operations in the UAE, Qatar,
Kuwait and Oman. In addition to this, the establishment of Legrand
Customer Centres in the emirates and other parts of the GCC makes
the company strategically placed to capitalize on the projected
regional demand for electrical products and systems.
