First of its kind hands-on training course for selected
Microsoft .NET developers
Around thirty selected application developers
from seven major oil and gas sector companies graduated from the
first of its kind Microsoft developers training program in Kuwait.
These training courses were held in coordination with the Kuwait
Petroleum Corporation (KPC) at their Training Center in Ahmadi.
Mohammed Helmy, Enterprise and Partner Group Manager from Microsoft
North Gulf and the Training Manager of the KPC Training Centre
presented the certificates .
Qualified Microsoft .NET application developers were selected
from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Kuwait National Petroleum
Company (KNPC), Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), Kuwait
Oil Tankers Company (KOTC), Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Equate Petrochemical
Company and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) to attend two separate
intensive training programs of five days each geared to moving
individuals to advanced levels of knowledge with the benefit of
hands-on training on Microsoft’s .NET platform. The application
developers were selected based on their existing experience and
skills in .NET applications.
Nabeel Al-Obydie, Oil & Gas Sector Manager for Microsoft
North Gulf explained: “Microsoft is very committed to the
development of individuals not only by providing them with the
latest technological advancements but also by educating them on
how to use such technologies and applications. We believe how one
uses technology is every bit as important as whether one uses it
at all. We recently announced the Microsoft Middle East & Africa
Developers Support Centre (MEA DSC) which is staffed with highly
qualified professional developers who will assist developers in
the region in their efforts to build reliable, secure and scalable
applications that can be easily deployed and run.. Such training
courses in conjunction with the DSC will help to greatly speed
up the software development cycle and in turn ensure rapid development
of the IT industry in Kuwait. This way we ensure helping not only
individuals but also companies realize their business objectives.”
This is the first time Microsoft has provided vertical training
to any business sector in Kuwait. “These training courses
were a part of our global .NET awareness campaign. We look forward
to extending similar skill enhancement courses to other business
sectors as well.” Al-Obydie added.
Senior Instructor for Commercial Studies of the KPC Training Center
said: “We are pleased to work with Microsoft on providing
such in-depth technology learning initiative that enhances the
skills of application developers both on a personal and professional
level. The oil and gas sector in Kuwait is the one of the most
important industries in the region and such technological support
and education will bring only positive results which will contribute
to the growth of this sector and the economy as a whole.”
