ExxonMobil appointments

Daniel S. Sanders Retires as President, ExxonMobil Chemical Company and Vice President, Exxon Mobil Corporation; Michael J. Dolan Nominated to Succeed Sanders

Mr. Daniel S. (Dan) Sanders, president, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, and vice president, Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), will retire on Aug. 31, 2004, after more than 43 years of service. Mr. Sanders, 64, joined the company in 1961 and was elected to his current job in January 1999.

It is anticipated that the board of directors will appoint Mr. Michael J. (Mike) Dolan as president, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, and elect him a vice president of the corporation effective Sept. 1, 2004. In the interim, Mr. Dolan will become executive vice president, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, effective Aug. 1, 2004. Mr. Dolan is currently deputy to the president of ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company. Mr. Dolan, 50, joined the company in 1980. During his career, he has managed many of the major product groups in ExxonMobil Chemical Company and served as its regional director for the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Stephen D. (Steve) Pryor, currently executive vice president, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, will become deputy to the president, ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company, effective Aug. 1, 2004. Mr. Pryor, 54, joined the company in 1971 and has held his current position since January 2002.

Daniel S. Sanders is president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company in Houston.

A native of Georgia, Mr. Sanders earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina and joined Exxon as an engineer at the company's Baton Rouge, La., refinery. Early in his career he held positions in Exxon Chemical's manufacturing operations in Baton Rouge and Linden, N.J.

Later he held positions of increasing responsibility with Exxon's chemical business, including planning manager, vice president of the olefins business both in the United States and worldwide, executive vice president of Exxon Chemical Americas in Houston, and president of Exxon Chemical Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.

In 1988, Mr. Sanders became executive assistant to the chairman and president of Exxon Corporation, and in 1990 was appointed senior vice president of Exxon Company, U.S.A. In 1992, he became worldwide president of the Basic Chemicals group of Exxon Chemical Company, and in 1994 he became vice president of Human Resources of Exxon Corporation.

He was named executive vice president of Exxon Chemical in 1998 and president in January 1999. He was named president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company in December of 1999 when the two companies merged.

Mr. Sanders is past Chairman of the Board of the American Chemistry Council and past Chairman of the Society of Chemical Industry, American Section.

He is a member of the Council of Overseers of the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the University of South Carolina and Furman University and the Board of Governors of the Houston Grand Opera. He is also on the Board of Directors of Milliken & Company.

MICHAEL J. DOLAN
Deputy to the President
ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company

Michael Dolan graduated from Worcester Poly technic Institute (WPI), Worcester, Mass., in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Mr. Dolan also earned an MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 1985.

Upon graduation from WPI, Mr. Dolan joined UOP in Des Plaines, Ill., as a technical service engineer. He later worked in R&D and then as a field technical service engineer in refineries in the United States and abroad.

In 1980, Mr. Dolan joined Mobil at the Paulsboro, N.J., research labs and worked in a variety of research, planning and technical service positions.

In 1989, he was named technical manager at Mobil's Refinery in Adelaide, Australia. He returned to the United States in 1991 to manage the chemical section of Mobil's central engineering company in Princeton, N.J.

Mr. Dolan joined Mobil Chemical Company in 1993 in Houston. He progressed through a variety of strategic planning and business management positions in the aromatics, olefins and polyethylene businesses before becoming vice president and general manager for petrochemicals in the Americas in 1998.

Following the Exxon and Mobil merger in 1999, Mr. Dolan became the Middle East and Africa regional director of ExxonMobil Chemical while located in Brussels. In 2001, he moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he served as executive vice president for ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia. He returned to the United States in September 2003 and is currently deputy to the president of ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company.

He is a member of the WPI Chemical Engineering Advisory Board and a past director of the American Plastics Council, the Society of Plastics Industries and the American Chemistry Council.

STEPHEN D. PRYOR
Executive Vice President
ExxonMobil Chemical Company

Stephen D. Pryor is executive vice president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company.

Mr. Pryor joined Mobil Oil Corporation in 1971 as a marketing representative in New York.

He later held a variety of supervisory assignments in Mobil Europe, Inc. based in London and served as general manager of Mobil Oil Cyprus Ltd. and Mobil Oil New Zealand Ltd. He then held a variety of senior planning assignments for both U.S. and international downstream operations.

In 1993, Mr. Pryor was appointed vice president, U.S. Fuels Marketing and later that year became vice president, Mobil Chemical Company.

In 1996, he was named president, Mobil Asia Pacific, Inc. and in 1998, president, International Marketing and Refining. He was named president of ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties Company in 1999.

Mr. Pryor earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Lafayette College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a Trustee of Lafayette College.
