BJ Process and Pipeline Services appoints Iain Maclennan
Posted: 12 July 2004
BJ Process and Pipeline Services (BJ PPS) today announced that Iain MacLennan has been appointed Business Development Manager for the Continental Europe-Northern Africa Region (CENA).
In his new role, MacLennan is responsible for driving BJ PPS business development efforts, and maintaining existing relationships with clients operating throughout Continental Europe and in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya.
With 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry, MacLennan, 38, launched his career in 1989 in Great Yarmouth, England, with NOWSCO where he worked in offshore operations until 1991 when he joined Salvesen Well Services.
Soon thereafter, BJ Services acquired Salvesen Well Services in 1992 and MacLennan continued to progress in the Well Services division. Throughout the course of his career with BJ Services, he has worked in a range of roles within well services and process and pipeline services in the UKCS and Europe.
In 2001, MacLennan left BJ for a brief period to work for The Expro Group to manage both process and pipeline services, and well services for the BHP Billiton Petroleum’s Liverpool Bay asset in the UKCS.
In January 2004, he was named Business Development Manager for Continental Europe to manage business development initiatives from The Netherlands, where he worked until returning to BJ Services earlier this spring.
Based in his native Great Yarmouth, MacLennan reports directly to Julian Manning, Manager – Continental Europe and North Africa Region for BJ PPS.
“Because the CENA Region is an extremely important, and challenging arm of our world-wide operations, it was critical to appoint someone with long-term experience of the full range of BJ PPS services. With Iain’s in-depth experience of the pipeline and process industry, particularly in Continental Europe, he was the ideal candidate,” said Julian Manning. “I am confident that he will drive BJ PPS business development efforts with care and solid strategic planning,” he added.
BJ Services Company (BJS-NYSE, CBOE) is a leading provider of pressure pumping and related oilfield services to the petroleum industry. The company operates in every major oil and gas producing region.
