Keppel and China Everbright form alliance to grow environmental business

Seghers Keppel Technology Asia Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seghers Keppel Technology Group (SKG), has entered into a strategic alliance with China Everbright International (CEI) to provide waste-to-energy incineration and wastewater treatment services in China and overseas.
Under the terms of the agreement, SKG and CEI will collaborate in the exploration, development and investment of environmental projects, as well as provide technical consultancy, project management, plant operations & maintenance services.
Said Mr Yick Ping Wong, CEO of Keppel Integrated Engineering (KIE) and SKG, “This alliance will strengthen our efforts to secure a share of the growing environmental protection market in China and beyond.
“With CEI’s capital and network resources, I am confident this alliance is well positioned to offer our suite of proprietary waste-to-energy and wastewater solutions to our customers.
”For a start, the partners will focus on marketing our services in the economically-developed cities of China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.”
Through SKG, the Keppel Group has established a track record of quality solutions and innovative products in China. To date, it is involved in the development of waste-to-energy incineration plants in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, as well as municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shijiazhuang, Shenzhen and Foshan.
Earlier in May this year, KIE has entered into a joint venture with China Cheng Tong Resources Recycling Development Corporation to provide wastewater treatment services in China.
