Sniperhire makes PDO first in its class with online recruitment
Posted: 20 July 2004
- Transforms PDO traditional recruitment process
- Fast, efficient and cost effective web recruitment solution goes live
- Total hiring solution from initial online application to job offer
Sniperhire, one of the world’s leading hiring solution providers, has just completed the implementation of their world class Applicant Tracking System (ATS) at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO Shell) , the premier hydrocarbon exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman, which accounts for more than 90% of the country's crude-oil production and nearly all of its natural-gas supply.
The web enabled solution will automate PDO’s recruitment processes, allowing candidates to apply for vacancies displayed on the PDO website as well as managing the PDO screening, and candidate-management process. The management reporting provided by the solution will allow PDO to monitor and measure the effectiveness of their recruitment strategies including the performance of their HR suppliers. Ultimately PDO will be able to fill their open positions with the most qualified applicants more quickly then ever before. Sniperhire ATS is composed of strategic, web-native tools that optimise and accelerate every phase of the PDO hiring process.
PDO was looking for an online web based hiring system that would complement its existing traditional recruitment processes and provide a consistent recruitment strategy and approach across the group. PDO found exactly what it was looking for in Sniperhire’s Recruitment Consulting Team, global domain expertise and the straight forward approach they took. Badran al Hinai, Head of Recruitment at PDO commented, “It is very exciting and will revolutionise the way we recruit in PDO. It will be as great a benefit for those looking to work in PDO as much as for those managers within PDO who wish to fill vacancies.” He continued, “Recruiting online is very advantageous, besides being cost effective, the new system will drastically reduce the administrative effort involved in processing applications. Moreover, a recruitment officer will find it much easier to follow up the steps any application should take.”
The system has been integrated into PDO’s website at www.pdo.co.om and there are already many vacancies and graduate openings posted on the website. The site allows job seekers to apply for jobs online as well as register interest in speculative roles within the company. The system will send information on any role that might be of interest to the potential applicant as it becomes available in the future. Once the applicant registers online for a particular role, the system will keep them updated on the progress of their application. Full details of each position are made available on the website so applicants can gain enough information before deciding to apply. Applicants are able to store their resumes online, so that they have easy access to apply for any future positions.
The solution has been localised to match PDO’s market and requirements, such as field templates adapted to suit particular cultural requirements and custom reports developed to satisfy monthly reporting demands and Ministry of Gas compliance. Sniperhire tech nology integrates seamlessly with PDO’s existing management systems ensuring that candidates who are successfully evaluated and approved by HR & Line Managers, automatically move in to PDO’s SAP HR module for payroll purposes. The application is fully web based, integrated with SAP, and sits on the PDO De-Militarised Zone (DMZ) which ensures that the PDO solution is at the top of its class in terms of leading IT infrastructure.
Ben Fawcett, Managing Director of Sniperhire commented, “Our solution has significantly improved the recruitment experience for the PDO applicant. The solution enables PDO to evaluate applications quickly, filtering out unsuccessful applications so that PDO can focus on a target pool of qualified candidates. As new vacancies arise PDO will have access to this ready database of qualified contacts, saving time and money on searching speculatively for new candidates.” He continued, “PDO is one of the first petroleum companies in the region to go online with their recruitment, endorsing their reputation as a leading edge company, world class recruiter and employer of choice.”
