Eclipse replaces Top-Bottom installed displacer transmitters
Posted: 5 August 2004
The Eclipse Guided Wave Radar from Magnetrol International, with 7EK probe, revamps "Top-Bottom mounted displacer transmitters" in a simple and therefore cost effective way.
The 7EK is a combined probe and cage assembly that can replace any previously installed top/bottom mounted displacer transmitter. The entire revamp procedure can be performed in a minimum of time with little or no modifications to the existing installation.
The 7EK is mechanically overfill safe by design, measures liquids with dielectrics as low as 1.4 and viscosities up to 10.000 cP and can handle high temperature/ pressure conditions up to +320°C @ 110 bar. The 7EK uses a standard integral or remote 705 amplifier, side mounted onto the 7EK probe/cage, via the same 'Quick connect/disconnect coupling' as the existing series.
The 7EK benefits from the same compression style seal that has proven the high reliability of Eclipse in steam applications. By offering a choice of seal materials, the 7EK can either be suited for measuring conductive liquids at temperatures up to +320°C or hydrocarbons at +260°C and a max. operating pressure of 205 bar. The seal is flush with +the inside wall of the cage, so that no gas/ liquid can penetrate the side connection to the amplifier.
By adding the 7EK probe to the Eclipse 705 range, Magnetrol is able to respond to almost any application in a process environment varying from standard cost efficient solutions to high temperature/ high pressure, saturated steam, liquid-liquid interface, high viscosity media, CIP- SIP clean, light bulk solids.
Guided Wave Radars are known for delivering a high quality & stable measurement, independent of changing media characteristics or process variables. The Eclipse 705 series is PED approved to Approved to Cat IV - H1 and has a complete set of safety approvals available including ATEX intrinsically safe, non sparking and explosion proof. The Eclipse 705 meets functional safety to SIL 1 /SIL 2 (redundant installation in accordance with IEC 61508 / IEC 61511-1).
