Acquire was developed by Ambrit Ltd as a leading edge solution, providing a secure, real time link between process control instrumentation and the Internet. Acquire™ enables Operations and Management to interact with systems locally or remotely using just a standard web browser.

Acquire is a server software product which runs on a standard PC under Windows 2000 or Windows NT. The PC connects to RTUs, flow computers or directly with smart transducers using their proprietary hardware and software protocols. Acquire collects data and stores it in a local database, which also acts as an Internet server. This server transmits the data on request, using secure Internet tech nologies, to an operator anywhere in the world. Subject to satisfying the access permissions, an operator using an Internet Explorer® browser simply logs on the the URL address of of the Acquire server to gain access to all the data via Acquire's graphic rich interface. An operator from any location, local or worldwide, can have real time access to measurement systems in many locations. Data can be conveyed in both directions - in addition to viewing flow measurement data, constants can be downloaded into a remote flow computer (or smart transmitter), valves can be controlled etc. - all this with only a web browser.

Tony Shepherd, Chairman of Alderley Plc., commented, "We are delighted to be associated with Ambrit and the Acquire tech nology. Alderley saw the potential when Ambrit introduced us to Acquire in 2002 during the early phase of its development. The product has matured and is already making an impact in the market. Acquire will make a serious contribution to our systems capability where world-wide access to measurement and control data is becoming an increasing requirement."

Andrew Webb, Ambrit's Managing Director, is pleased with the new arrangement: "We are grateful to Alderley for their assistance in the early days allowing us access to systems at their facility at Wickwar where we were able to gain first hand experience with real environments. The result is a first class product that will change the way future systems are implemented." He continued, "Alderley's system integration experience and Ambrit's web enabled database tech nology compliment each other providing opportunity of success for both companies."

Acquire will feature on the Alderley web site where further information can be found: www.alderley.com
