Anadarko Petroleum Corporation makes new board appointment

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation announced today that H. Paulett Eberhart has been appointed to serve on Anadarko's board of directors.
Eberhart is a retired senior executive of Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) where she held a number of positions of increasing responsibility throughout her 26-year career. Until her retirement earlier this year, Eberhart served as Senior Vice President of EDS, and President of Global Sales and Client Solutions, Americas. During Eberhart's tenure at EDS, she also was President of EDS Solutions Consulting, U.S. Information Solutions and headed global finance functions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She also sits on the board of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Eberhart was appointed to a term expiring in 2007. She will also serve on the board's Audit and Nominating and Corporate Governance committees.
