ResLab acquires ECL’s SCAL laboratory at Winfrith, UK

Reservoir Laboratories AS, ResLab, has acquired ECL’s SCAL laboratory at Winfrith , UK . This was a former AEA Technology Laboratory, which initially was a governmental body serving the needs of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for performing specialised studies within reservoir tech nology and IOR.
ResLab confirm that the day-to-day operations at the Winfrith laboratory will have complete continuity going forward and that all existing committed contracts will be completed in the name of ECL. There will be an ongoing business relationship between ResLab and ECL with respect to future business development opportunities and potential joint projects.
The Winfrith laboratory performs highly specialised flooding experiments (water-oil, gas-oil displacements, WAG-studies, etc.) and is very well equipped with advanced equipment and flooding rigs. The services will complement and add capacity to ResLab’s existing Advanced Reservoir Studies capability that are currently performed in Trondheim , Norway . This addition of competence and capacity will strengthen ResLab’s position in the area of high-end SCAL services to the oil & gas industry.
Andrew Cable will continue in his position as Manager for the Winfrith laboratory, with tech nical and administrative responsibilities for the ongoing operations. Tony Barrow will be the General Manager for ResLab UK, with overall responsibility for both the ResLab laboratory at East Grinstead , near London and the ResLab laboratory at Winfrith.
ResLab welcomes all of the staff at Winfrith into the ResLab Group and we look forward to further expansion of capacity, competence and experience within our ResLab UK operations.
