Excellence in Energy Awards 2004 to be held under the patronage of UAE Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources

This year, the Excellence in Energy Awards, to be presented at the Oil Barons Ball, will once again be held under the patronage of His Excellency Obeid bin Saif Al Nassiri, UAE Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

The Oil Barons Ball, now in its second year has already gained a reputation as the premier oil and gas social event. It provides an evening of unprecedented networking as it brings together the major players in the regions energy industry.

This gala event will be held on the lawns of Nad Al Sheba, Dubai on the 24th November.

Technology plays a leading role in the energy industry, the 2004 Pipeline Magazine Excellence in Energy Awards, to be presented at the Ball, are being sponsored by some of the leading companies operating in the UAE including Intel, HP, Microsoft and Schlumberger 

Eileen Michael, Publisher of Pipeline Magazine, said: “As publishers of the region’s leading energy magazine, it is appropriate that we host the region’s leading industry event. The evening provides a chance to network with industry peers, while finding out who the industry feels is worthy of recognition through the Energy Awards. “The massive industry commitment to this event is an indication of the calibre of attendees we are expecting at the event.”

H.E. Obeid bin Saif Al Nassiri, UAE Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, is expected to present the Excellence in Energy Awards to this year’s winners.

The awards, now in its fifth year, includes categories for the overall best company; best company in health and safety; best company in environment; best company in industry technology; best company in information technology; best industry services company; industry innovator and Project of the Year. Due to the success of last year’s event two new categories — Best Sub Contractor and Best Project Management — have been introduced

Last year’s winners – voted by the readers of Pipeline magazine – included RasGas, Shell in the Middle East, Halliburton, Technip, Schlumberger, Saudi Aramco's Haradh Gas Plant, and ADNOC. The Outstanding Achievement award went to H.E. Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Energy & Industry
