DMG World Media Company acquires Gastech, EAGC

Posted: 10 November 2004

DMG World Media has acquired Gastech and the European Autumn Gas Conference (EAGC) from Turret Rai plc. Both the 19th EAGC, taking place from 9-10 November 2004 at Fira Palace Hotel in Barcelona, and the 21st Gastech show, 14-17 March 2005 in Bilbao, will be managed by the existing management team including Richard Hease Chairman Turret Group Ltd, Tony Stephenson Gastech Event Director, Lynne Evans Conference Director and Jo Tyler, Marketing Manager. Following Gastech 2005, full management of both shows will be transferred to dmg world media's Business Media International division based in its Redhill office.

"The acquisition of Gastech and the EAGC could not have come at a more ideal time", said Ian Stokes, Executive Vice President, Business Media International, dmg world media. "We have recently restructured our B2B Division combining activities on both sides of the Atlantic under a single banner- Business Media International. This will allow us to capitalize on synergies between our existing oil and gas products (based out of Calgary, Canada) and future acquisitions such as this. We are thrilled to add Gastech and EAGC to our portfolio."

Gastech, a biennial event, is the largest international event to serve the LNG, LPG and Natural Gas industries. The exhibition is supported by a top-level conference covering a wide range of issues with speakers including government ministers, the Secretary General of OPEC and CEOs and presidents from the most influential companies in the commercial and technical gas world. Gastech 2005 is expected to occupy 16,500 sq m of exhibition space. Additional information is available at www.gastech.co.uk

The European Autumn Gas Conference is Europe's longest running annual gas conference, bringing together the world's leading gas experts and policymakers to discuss strategic issues affecting the future of the gas industry in Europe. EAGC 2005 will take place in November 2005 at Excel in London . Additional information is available at www.theeagc.com
