GAC Iran support services relocates to Dubai
Posted: 24 November 2004
In a strategic move to enhance GAC’s services in Iran, the Group’s support services for operations in the country will relocate to Dubai on December 1, 2004, it was reported at the time of going to Press.
In addition to strengthening GAC’s long-standing services to shipping in Iran, this relocation will take advantage of the growing importance of Dubai as a hub for global trade and the shipping and logistics industries.
Therefore, all support functions and services for GAC in Iran currently coordinated by GAC Crawley in the UK will be handled by GAC Shipping FZCO in Dubai.
Since its establishment in 1958, GAC Iran has been serving Principals and their vessels calling at various ports and oil terminals throughout Iran. Since the 1980s, the GAC Iran team based in the UK has offered vital shipping and support services. Despite challenging conditions over the last decades, the company claims that it has maintained a strong position and coverage in all Iran’s southern ports and oil terminals, including the capital Tehran.
GAC Iran will continue to provide professional shipping agency services for all types of vessels including tankers, containers, dry/bulk, offshore and marine. At the same time, there will be a significant enhancement to the services offered for containers, terminals, land transportation, transits and logistics.
In parallel to the move, GAC’s dedicated Iran support team will expand to include new members transferred from GAC Dubai to extend the highest level of service and commitment to Principals.
