Posted: 8 December 2004
EAGC - the European Autumn Gas Conference - Europe's longest running annual gas conference, is celebrating its 20th anniversary by being held for the first time in London. EAGC 2005 will be hosted by BP and held at ExCeL in London's Docklands 22-23 November 2005
The first EAGC was held in 1986 in Geneva. Since then the annual event has been staged in Paris, Milan, Leeds Castle (UK), Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Venice, Brugge, Cologne, Edinburgh, Noordwijk, Florence, Prague and Barcelona. "Well aware of the need that the UK has for gas, and as a British team, we are delighted to be able to announce that for one year EAGC is 'coming home' to the UK's capital city," says conference director, Lynne Evans.
"BP is delighted to be hosting the 2005 European Autumn Gas conference in London," said Alan Haywood, Managing Director, BP Northern Europe Gas and Power. "With the European gas market changing significantly - no more so than in the UK - next year's conference will provide an excellent location in which to discuss the new developments with industry experts and, of course, to meet old and new friends from across the energy world. Our best wishes go to EAGC for another successful event."
Bringing together the world's leading gas experts and policymakers to discuss strategic issues affecting the future of the gas industry in Europe, EAGC has built a formidable reputation over the years. It is held purposefully in the autumn of each year to review the previous year and discuss strategies for the year ahead. It is renowned for its interactive panel discussions and high-level of networking. "We know that EAGC 2005 in London will not only meet but surpass expectations," says Lynne Evans. Information on the 2005 event will be available shortly on the conference website at www.theeagc.com <http://www.theeagc.com> and constantly updated throughout the year ahead.
This year's EAGC held in Barcelona was totally sold out with 500 delegates taking up every available place. It opened to the news that the event, with the Gastech series, is now owned by dmg world media who have acquired it from Turret RAI plc. Following Gastech 2005 (being held in Bilbao , 14-17 March 2005) full management of both shows will be transferred to dmg world media's Business Media International division based in its Redhill office. Until then, contact details for the EAGC team remain EAGC 2005, Armstrong House, 38 Market Square, Uxbridge, Middlesex UB8 1TG.
