QATAR TO HOST ‘EXCELLENCE IN ENERGY’ AWARDS 2005
HONOURS TO BE HELD UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF OIL MINISTER AL ATTIYAH
The fifth ‘Excellence In Energy’ awards – the Middle East’s annual energy industry ‘Oscars’ organised by Pipeline Magazine , the Pan Arab world’s foremost monthly publication for the oil and gas sectors – will be held in the Qatari capital, Doha next year.
And the awards, which are fiercely contested by the region’s expanding oil and gas sector, are to be held under the patronage of His Excellency, Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Qatar ’s Oil Minister.
“Oil and gas remain the mainstay of the Qatari economy and it is highly appropriate that the country hosts an awards ceremony which will see leading executives from all sections of the industry throughout the region attend,” said Al Attiyah.
The ‘Excellence In Energy’ awards 2005 will be staged to coincide with the inaugural International Petroleum Technology Conference which will take place in Doha from November 21st-23rd next year.
“The awards, together with IPTC, will focus the eyes of the international and regional energy industry firmly on Qatar during November next year,” explained Eileen Michael , Publisher, Reflex Publish M.E. FZ LLC, which produces Pipeline.
“We also plan to mark the ‘Excellence In Energy’ awards’ debut in Qatar with a commemorative golf tournament to be held at the Doha Golf Club.”
The ‘Excellence In Energy’ awards feature 10 honours and cover a range of industry issues from health and safety to environment, from industry and information technology to project of the year.
Voting for the awards will be via an entry form in Pipeline magazine or on-line at www.pipelinedubai.com.
