Posted: 05 January 2005
Oil officials and experts from several countries will meet in London on March 22 to discuss the role of national oil companies in the Middle East and other areas and attempts by some countries to politicize such a strategic sector.
The London-based Centre for Global Energy Studies (CGES) is sponsoring the event, which also includes papers on cooperation between national oil firms and consumers, increased oil expertise in OPEC regions and the shift of growth to non-OPEC producing nations.
The conference at the Carlton Tower Hotel in London is entitled “National oil companies in the face of changing market conditions.”
Key speakers include Sheikh Ahmed Zaki Al Yamani, CGES Chairman and former Saudi oil minister, Adnan Al Janabi, Iraqi Minister of State, and other officials and experts.
