Annual pipeline conference in Amsterdam March 1-2

Posted: 12 January 2005

Officials and experts from many countries will gather in Amsterdam in March for an annual conference on Offshore Pipeline Technology (OPT) covering performance in ultra deep waters and other related issues.

IBC is organising the March 1-2 event at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, which it described at Europe’s leading forum on OPT.

“The 2005 conference promises to be a MUST ATTEND event for all involved with the offshore pipeline sector, featuring cutting edge presentations from key players operating at the forefront of this industry,” IBC said in a statement sent to Pipeline.

This year’s event will focus on the technical challenges faced by the offshore pipeline industry, including developments in design, analysis, pipeline modifications and repairs, deepwater pipe lay and pipe/soil interaction. The event will feature detailed technical papers on aspects of pipeline technology advances which enable improvements in design, stability and flow assurance, as well as reviewing some of the more innovative pipeline projects from around the world.

Papers to be presented at the conference will cover Pipeline performance in Ultra Deepwater Applications, deepwater pipe laying – a spectacular development--, field experience with the construction of large diameter SCRs in deep water, and lateral buckling of offshore pipelines.
