Occidental wins 9 exploration blocks in Libya

Occidental Petroleum said it was awarded interests in nine exploration blocks in Libya 's first licensing round since US sanctions were lifted last year. Occidental has been vying to reenter the oil-rich African nation after being forced to abandon operations in the country when US sanctions were imposed in 1986.
