In line with its futuristic vision and inspired by late president H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan ambitions embodied in his own words “We exert every possible effort to cater for environmental and wildlife, not only for our sake but also for the generations to come.”

Emarat attaches a great concern for the environment in which it conducts business and strongly focus on environmental issues and as results registering high profile presence at the recent “sustainable Transportation in Developing Countries Conference and Exhibition” held in Abu Dhabi . The event, being held for the third consecutive year in the capital of the U.A.E., under the patronage of the UAE President H.H. Sh. Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, is firmly established as the largest and most exclusive Exhibition and Conference on Environment in the Middle East , North Africa and the Subcontinent.

At total of 2000 companies, and many ministers, government official/ health environment researchers, transport and development delegates attended the 3 days Environment conference and exhibition.

Hussain Kazim, Emarat's Manager, and Corporate Communications, said: “The Environment 2005 Conference and Exhibition highlighted the determined efforts the UAE is making to support conservation and environment protection initiatives.

"Emarat is committed to supporting the UAE’s policy of placing environmental issues at the top of the agenda and to emphasise their role in sustaining economic progress nationally, regionally and globally. We have to preserve and maintain the environment to secure a decent life for the people of our nations.”

Emarat supports numerous environmental projects and is committed to the ideal of a healthy and clean environment. Its corporate social responsibility policies reflect this commitment and has led to initiatives such as the installation of 30 reverse vending machines in 16 of the corporation’s service stations, with others soon to be installed.

This technology was displayed at Emarat's stand at the exhibition and demonstrated its ability to grant in-kind prizes from the commodities and products available at Emarat’s stores. Customers are rewarded when they dispose of plastic, bags and empty bottles and cans by putting them inside the machines. The units identify the items, determine which category of waste they belong to, and offer suitable prizes.
