Aramark Technical Services Is Awarded £350,000 Contract

Lundin Britain Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Swedish independent oil and gas exploration and production company Lundin Petroleum, has awarded a major £350,000 contract to Aberdeen-based ARAMARK Technical Services.
The contract is for the design, engineering, procurement and installation for the refurbishment of the galley and mess room on the Heather Alpha, which is located north east of the Shetland Islands in the UK Sector of the Northern North Sea .
The design process has been carried out by ARAMARK’s in-house architectural design team, which is headed up by architectural manager, Mike Foster. ARAMARK supplied Lundin Petroleum with a technologically advanced 3D-design proposal, which enabled them to picture exactly how the refurbishment would look.
ARAMARK is notion for the two-month offshore refurbishment, which will start in February. The galley area has been redesigned by ARAMARK to improve the ergonomic flow and reduce manual handling. The freezer and cold room capacities are also being doubled.

In the mess room the layout has been revised and the area will be redecorated and upgraded to create a cafe bistro ambiance with subtle lighting. The flooring and furniture will be replaced and a new servery will be installed to give chefs the opportunity to ‘theatre cook’ in the open mess room area for the 100 people working on the Heather Alpha.
ARAMARK Technical Services was officially launched in October 2002 with a team of eight to provide quality non-food services both offshore and onshore. Today the team of more than 20 staff service more than 50 remote locations and work with major oil and gas operating companies both offshore in the UKCS and onshore across Scotland.

The catering contract on Heather is also run by ARAMARK, which will help to implement the changes with the minimum disruption to daily platform operations that will be ongoing throughout.”
