Dubai Ship Docking Yard to take part in Gulf Maritime in a big way

Dubai Ship Docking Yard (Al Jadaf), the oldest ship repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, will participate in a big way in the Gulf Maritime 2005 to beheld from April 18-20 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Founded in 1978, it is considered to be one of the busiest docking yards in world with over 270 companies operating from it and offers comprehensive and professional docking and ancillary services to the shipping industry.
The state-of-the-art facilities at the Yard include two dry docks, two ship lift system and dry berths, among others.
It has also plans to move to Dubai Maritime City once the facility is ready by 2006.
The Yard, with expertise in the field of docking and undocking ships, will showcase all its services and facilities at the Gulf Maritime 2005, which will feature more than 180 exhibitors from over 26 countries.
Apart from Dubai Ship Docking Yard, the government-level support for the event comes from Sharjah Ports Authority, Dubai Dry Docks, Hamriya Free Zone, Abu Dhabi Ship Building and Dubai Maritime City.
Some of the other prominent participants include Kobelt from Canada, Stone Marine and Berg Propulsion from Singapore, Balenciaga Shipyard from Spain, Bharati Shipyard and Chowgule &Co from India, Batservice from Norway, Riviera Pool Middle East, Rolls-Royce, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems, Mohd. Rahman Al-Bahar, Dubai Maritime City, Dubai Drydocks, ZF Marine ME, Seaspray Aluminium Boats Emirates and Emirates Inflatables from the UAE.
The displays will include the latest in designing and building of different kinds of vessels, equipment for fishing, offshore support vessels, cargo ships, tankers, tugs, ferries, patrol boats, all types of ship repair and port operations products and cargo handling services.
A major highlight of the exhibition will be seminars covering products and issues concerning the industry.
The show is organised jointly by Expo Centre Sharjah and Baird Publications of Singapore and the visitor timings are from 10am to 6pm .
