Labtech Awarded Contract With Hitec Products Group

International engineering specialist to the oil and gas industry, Labtech Modular Engineering has provided two process units worth more than £110,000 to the independent drilling, fluid control and automation company, Hitec Products, based in Stavanger .
Labtech, which is recognised as a specialist in the design, manufacture, repair, refurbishment and hire of high quality containerised and skid mounted modules, was assigned to design and manufacture two 30 foot A60 fire rated cabins at its Aberdeen headquarters in Altens.
The cabins, which are bound for offshore Angola , have been fully fitted out by Hitec in Stavanger with workover process equipment and will be used for subsea well completions on the Greater Plutonio Field, also known as Block 18.
Hitec’s technical manager, Karl Lima, said: “We have worked with Labtech before on several projects and we knew they could be relied upon to design and manufacture units which are of the highest standards in the world. The team works efficiently, always delivers on time and we never have any qualms when Labtech is on board.”
Labtech’s managing director, Jim Manson, said: “This is our fifth modular contract with Hitec in Norway and we have really built up a strong relationship with its team over the years. We are committed to our strategy of international expansion, especially as last year 75 per cent of Labtech’s sales were from the overseas market, and our relationships with our existing clients are extremely important to us.”
