8 th Middle East Energy Insurance Seminar Brings Together International And Regional Experts

The volatility of current world affairs – both political and economical – has a tremendous impact on the supply of energy, a subject that will be addressed in-depth at the 8 th Middle East Energy Insurance Seminar taking place in Dubai on 19 th and 20 th April.
The bi-annual seminar aptly entitled “Ensuring Supply in a Volatile World” is organised and hosted by Aon Corporation and brings together experts from top regional and global energy and petrochemical companies. Partnered by senior Aon executives the seminar will discuss a range of related subjects both, at the global and regional level. Aon Corporation is one the world’s leading global providers of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage and specialty insurance underwriting.
Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman, Director General, Dubai International Financial Centre will give the opening address followed by A.Latif Al Rayes, Chairman, Aon Middle East who will provide the regional perspective. Dennis Mahoney, Chairman and CEO, Aon Limited, will highlight energy trends in the global insurance and reinsurance market while Tim Fillingham, Chairman, Aon Energy, will review the 2004 energy market conditions and discuss what 2005 will bring. Edmund Sullivan, Editorial Director, Middle East Economic Digest will talk about the prospects for the region up to 2010.
The seminar will also highlight more specific subjects including risk differentiation and risk management strategy from the perspective of oil and insurance companies. Some of the other high profile speakers include Abdulrahman Jawahery, General Manager of The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. in Bahrain, Dr. Tamer Saka, Chief Risk Officer, Sabanci Holdings, Turkey. The concluding segments of the seminar will feature a Q&A session followed by Robert Naudi, Consultant, Aon Limited who will provide his reflections on insurance in the Middle East region over the past 40 years that has been.
