Electrochem Announces Distribution Agreement with Joint Sensor Instruments (Shenzhen) Ltd

Posted: 02 May 2005

Electrochem Commercial Power, a leading manufacturer of lithium battery packs and cells used in extreme environments, and a business of Wilson Greatbatch Technologies, Inc. (“WGT”) (NYSE:GB), has announced a distribution agreement with Joint Sensor Instruments (Shenzhen) Limited, at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston Texas, May 2-5, 2005.

Joint Sensor Instruments (Shenzhen) Limited is a manufacturer of pressure transducers, transmitters, load cells and strain gauges in Shenzhen China. After years of development, Joint Sensor is now the approved supplier to many leading national and international companies based in China.

For over 25 years, Electrochem has been committed to providing high-performance lithium cells and battery packs for demanding applications such as oil and gas exploration, pipeline inspection, military, telematics, oceanography and seismic surveying. Electrochem cells are widely used in these demanding applications because of their ability to perform under rigorous environmental conditions such as extreme temperature, shock and vibration.

Devices manufactured by Joint Sensor are often used in oil and gas applications such as down-hole drilling and pressure measurement. The distribution agreement between Electrochem and Joint Sensor will improve the availability of Electrochem cells for Asian-based oil and gas projects.

“Joint Sensor has a reputable track record of quality and service among their worldwide customer base,” says David Wald, Sales and Distribution Manager at Electrochem. “We’re pleased to sign a distribution agreement with Joint Sensors in an effort to provide our Asian customers with the convenience of a local supply source.”

Electrochem Lithium cells are clearly the defacto power source for instruments used in oil and gas-related applications because of their unparalleled reliability and performance,” says Zhexuan Wang, Vice President of Joint Sensor Instruments Limited. “Our customers will benefit from the improved availability of Electrochem cells in Asia .”
