Leading Officials from Qatar and Iran to Address LNG Ship Forum in Doha

With LNG producers in the region boosting their export capabilities, LNG shipping has become one of the most important factors in the expansion of the global LNG industry.
In response to the new dynamics impacting this critical sector, leading figures involved in the Middle East LNG and shipping industries are set to examine the major commercial strategies at the 1 st International Middle East LNG Shipping Forum, taking place under the Patronage of H.E Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Second Deputy Premier & Minister of Energy & Industry, who will also be delivering the opening address. The high-level event will be taking place in Qatar on June 6 th-7 th 2005 and is to be supported by QP.
Other Keynote speakers include Faisal Al Suwaidi, Managing Director & Vice Chairman Qatargas, A.A.Afkhami, Chairman & Managing Director of IRISL Iran and Ali Al Hammadi, Chief Operating Officer - Commercial & Shipping at Qatargas. The Editor of the daily maritime newspaper Lloyds List, will be Chairing the two-day proceedings.
The event organiser, Susan Webb, Managing Director of IBC Gulf Conferences commented "The 1 st International Middle East LNG Shipping Forum is being organised at a time when Qatar plans to order between 50-60 large new ships by 2012 and is set to become the centre of LNG shipping activities for the Middle East region. A comprehensive programme will also feature speakers from the Suez Canal Authority, Shell International Trading & Shipping Co., Osaka Gas, Lloyds Register, Bergesen, Qatar National Bank, Drewry Shipping, Denton Wilde Sapte, SG, Poten & Partners, Rovsing Dynamics, ABS Europe, Indar Shipping and Norton Rose.
